HaoTable woks are hand hammered. Each square centimeter is hit more than 150 times with a hammer...held by a hand.
HaoTable woks are cold hammered. We hammer the steel while it is still cold, ensuring that we do not weaken the steel in the process of making the wok. This thing is durable!
Our woks are made from a single piece of carbon steel. There are no joints or screws or bolts that collect grime and deteriorate over time.
Carbon steel is an alloy containing iron and extra carbon. The extra carbon strengthens the steel by shuffling around its crystal lattice. A well-seasoned carbon steel wok achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. The oil you heat in your wok breaks down into polymers. These polymers fill the tiny pores in the metal's surface, creating a nonstick coating. Your wok will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.
